Clan Functions & Description: There are many legends of who and what the Otsutsuki clan is. Some say they are beings from a world beyond that of our own. Others believe they were born by one who consumed the fruit of a sacred tree to gain incredible power. What is known is that the family were the originators of the abilities and powers modern shinobi possess. It is from them that every Kekkei Genkai were stemmed from. Whether it is the incredibly powerful ocular abilities of the Byakugan to the physical enhancements bestowed by Shikotsumyaku, the clan was notorious for their incredible prowess in battle and powerful qualities of chakra.
That was then. And this is now. In the more modern era, the Otsutsuki have essentially gone extinct due to a large civil war the broke up the clan into two separate branches referred to as the Sun and the Moon. For many years these branches fought one another and eventually decimated their numbers to a very exclusive few. Because of this, the clan is perhaps better referred to as a family as it now extends over the entire continent and hold no seemingly large population in any one place. The only exception to this is that of Kirigakure where Otsutsuki Omoikane has begun experimenting to bring the clan back from extinction.
Appearance wise, members of this bloodline share very unique qualities. The first of this is that they are all extremely pale-skinned and possess (usually long) white locks. Because of the prevalence of the Byakugan, most clan members do have the white eyes similar to that of the Hyuuga but this varies from person to person. Additionally, some clan members seem to have horns that grow from their skulls. It is said the size of one’s horns determines the quality of one’s chakra but such a trait hasn’t been proven as fact.
Kekkai Genkai/Hidden Technique Description: Due to being the originators of all known Kekkei Genkai in some shape or another, true members of the Otsutsuki clan possess an ability known as Kekkei Moura, or Bloodline Encompassing. Unlike other bloodline limits, this is not an ability that can simply be easily labeled or defined. This is due to it being completely different for all members of the clan. It is very much like a fingerprint as no two are ever the same. Depending on a clan member’s skill, this will take place in the form of various bloodline limits or enhanced capabilities of equivalent strength. These are classified into three different classifications: Ocular, Physical, and Chakra.
Clan members may only have one Kekkei Moura of each classification for a normal maximum of three. These are individually unlocked at Genin, Chunin, and Jounin (or their equivalent) ranking. Few clan members may unlock a fourth by achieving a Legendary status (S-Rank). This will awaken the 4th classification of Time-Space which bestows a new degree of capability.
Due to the power of these Kekkei Moura, each unlocking will take up one Strength slot. Additional, due to lacking the training of said clans, users who have the Kekkei Genkai of a clan can not utilize their techniques. For instance, having the Byakugan does not mean the Otsutsuki clan member can perform 64 Palms.

Unlike with most clans, the user does not require to know the parent elements to create Advance Elemental Releases through Kekkei Moura.
